The Bridge Ministry

Thanks for stopping by to learn more about this ministry, I will keep this as concise as possible when helping you understand what this ministry is about, but let me first say we are really glad you are here!!

My name is Jason MacDonald (my wife is Stephanie) and I have had a couple battles with addictions in my life, the first time was as a young adult battling drug & alcohol addiction (16-21age range) I went through an outpatient rehab center and NA (Narcotics Anonymous) along with church to come on the other side. The second time around I was in my early thirties (31-42 age range) and was more of a functioning alcoholic, this go round I had lots of tools and knowledge (but wasn't using them) and knew God (but wasn't really living for Him) so I simply re-surrendered my life to Jesus to come out of addiction this time. When I say that I was a functioning alcoholic I mean I always kept and maintained a job, I stayed married to my current wife, I stayed involved to some degree in my kids lives, and I went to church and was semi-social. But inside I was a shell of man and my life and relationships (and my relationship with God) were in shambles and I was drinking over 12 beers per day (most days) and had gained lots of weight. I set this up to say God has graciously brought me through these dark times and brought me on the other side of them with a very direct purpose, to serve and minister to others, to see them be restored to God, to see them enjoying the life God intends them to, and to see them serving and being part of a local body of believers in Jesus Christ (a local church). I also say this to let you know I have been there and seen the ugly, dark, hopeless, and difficult side of addictions, you're not alone in this fight.

So this ministry is a Christ centered, faith based ministry, that assists those who are in recovery that are ready to move forward to learn about the freedom that comes through Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross and resurrection. Jesus saves us from our sin, forgives us, delivers us, gives us His Spirit, and empowers us to live BRAND NEW LIVES of faith, but also helps us right where we are at. He brings hope and answers that we desperately need to move forward, to forgive, to make things right with others when needed, and to live abundant purpose filled lives. That means He knows the deep, dark, and ugly parts of our lives and our past, but gets right in there and gets to work helping us deal with the things that are holding us down and keeping us from moving forward. So its a life of active real faith, that is one day at a time, with no expectations from us other than humility and willingness to learn and grow. Love, forgiveness, hope, faith, and humility are the keys to living out a life of power and change. The Bridge ministry is a place of humility and openness where those in recovery meet the church and begin to be restored to the plans and purposes of God. We are partnered with churches, rehab/recovery centers, and local agencies to have resources and structures in place to see you through to a place where you feel loved, embraced, and a part of the church (not an addict, but a redeemed person who is a part of the church). This may take weeks, months, or years, it's really up to you and how fast your open to God's work and your willingness to cooperate with Him. However long it takes, this ministry hopes to be The Bridge to see that happen!
